I had been reading an article in the NYTimes.

Me: I read an article today about Blackberrys. It said that people who like them are dorky, and they have gotten much less popular. They used to be used a lot, but nobody wants them now. The Secret Service used to love them, but now even they don't want them.

(I was playing it up a little because husband is a Blackberry user. But at this point he is looking totally confused.)

Him: Not even the... Secret Service?

Me: Right. There is a problem with the apps.

Him Ohh-- I thought you were talking about the food....

It would be very weird if blackberries were suddenly out of fashion!

I am picturing the Secret Service eating blackberries on their breakfast cereal, and being very happy. I bet they get extra nice things to eat when the president goes on vacation.

That is really funny! I do not know these guys. I don't think we have them here. Bet I can get them on youtube though. Did you see the actors trying not to laugh when they got to the part about the dongles?

I swear I have been in that store!

I did once find myself in a store having to act out 'Kitty Litter' But there was a two-language language barrier there. So neither of us could be blamed.

I did not get the joke about the bill-hooks though...

(Oh-- I think I just got it, it was delayed. One of those things where you hang paper in hooks?)

I just knew you'd recognise that store! My grandad used to run one just like that except smaller. It was in a shed by the shore.

I did not get the joke about the bill-hooks though...

Ah. Never in a million years would I have gotten that. Explains the big laugh though.

My town used to have an actual general store. You could buy everything there. (Motor replacement parts, animal feed, shoelaces, nails, food...) It had cheese on a big wheel that was cut with a wire and wrapped up in paper. It had flypapers hanging from the ceiling. It was also the Post Office. All changed now of course-- but I am sure they sold billhooks.

My Blackberry is provided by my employer. It's OK for what I need, but hey, I'm not paying for it.

I have nothing against Blackberries really-- I was kind of teasing. I just got my first ever smartphone. He has the Blackberry for work.
