Grocery Day

Today was our big grocery day. Husband has had the week off, so we were able to go together, which was more fun than having to go alone. Also he was there to help drag everything up three flights of stairs. We went to the strange Russian store, and ,bought dark beer, and strange jellies, (is it strawberry? is it eggplant? is it fish paste? who knows?) Everything was fresh and delicious looking, even when we were not quite sure what it was. They had carrots there as big as my arm. Usually I like smaller carrots, to go in salads etc. There were big enough to bake like squash. Maybe I will do that when the weather gets cold.

Then we finished up at the regular store. That is where we usually get the goat meat. We got some this time too. We also got a package of chicken feet, complete with the claws, for Hazel. Some people eat them, I know, but I don't think I can.

We got normal things too, of course, the things everyone runs out of. Tampax has new packaging. It claims to have an 'anti-gravity' feature. I am confidently looking forward to being able to fly...
