This is great! I hadn't read this before, but I'm very familiar with Dowland's lyrics from this period so the line "Sing me some dolefull ditty to the Lute" made me smile :)

and I had read it = but not for about 20 years _i found I had vague memories - and not with so much context as it has now from your Kit tales and research
