Only Pretty Sure

Only pretty sure it was a dream:

Son's panicked voice--"Oh God, where is the lemon zester?"

Daughter's voice in that teenage drawl that says it should be obvious --- "Under my bed"

Also, still in the running for the apartment we want. Scrambling around today with papers of differing sizes. House packed enough to be inconvenient.

Oh, I hope, I hope.

Having raised four daughters, I instantly "heard" that response in my head!! Nothing is so 'tedious' to a teenage girl as her family's comments and questions. (I'm reminded of a piece of Bill Cosby's monologue; "Don't roll your eyes at me!! I brought you in this world and I can take you out again!!")

Good luck on the hoped-for apartment! Is it bigger? (There is never enough room when you live with a teenager!)

Yes-- she has mastered that voice. He is old enough to be out the other side now.

I know just the Bill Cosby routine you mean too.

I'm not sure what I am more curious about:

Why is the lemon zester so critical to son? or Why did daughter have lemon zester under her bed? Is there some strange lemon zesting thing going on in your household?!

I saw your post about the hoped-for-new-apartment just before we went off camping and I've been without internets ever since. Rest assured that I have been keeping every available extremity crossed on your behalf though.

It was a dream-- fortunately. There was no lemon zest crisis at 6 am. Just as well, I don't think we actually own a dedicated lemon zester. (I just use a grater.)

I was probably dreaming about having half my kitchen packed up!

It is now 6pm here. Still not sure if we are going to get the apartment we want. We have to be somewhere other than here by June 1...

I have done this many times and it always makes me nervous.
