Well, this is interesting

I am having a mild medical thing. It is not gross, but I will cut it for you anyway.

Backstory is this: Two years ago, in a moment of ill advised prancing, I hurt my knee. The meniscus got all sort of ground up and trashed. Knee slowly recovered, but it grinds somewhat, and it is not too happy in a deep squat. (Like for cleaning the refrig.) It works, but I have to be careful with it.

This week it has been very cold and snowy. Things are unstable underfoot, and instead of my usual sneakers I have been wearing boots. Clomping carefully made my knee hurt, but  I have been achy all over, but I thought that was a function-- or misfunction-- of my kidney.
But tonight I was washing away in my bath, and found a hard lump behind my knee. It is about the size of a golf ball, and my guess is it is bursitis. Husband had that once, in his elbow. He got something that looked like an elbow boob. Ship doctor elected not to puncture it. Better not to poke holes and introduce a possible infection.  It went away-- eventually. He rested it.

So tomorrow I am off to the doctor, He can sort out my kidney while he is looking at my knee. I don't want to have the lithotrypsy if all I need is a whopping antibiotic.

In any case, I think I will be putting my snowboots away for a while.

On a somewhat related note, my janitorial partner at work walked into a sign post in the parking lot Tuesday... lump the size of a half peanut shell over her left eye. Ended up being taken to the doctor and taking yesterday off with a concussion. Hate to say it, but we all (including her) were laughing so hard!
PS Decided the "handicapped parking" sign she walked into should be changed to "handicapped walking!"
