A little announcement

In a few days I will be f-locking the Marlowe stuff. This is because I am hoping to go for it seriously with my Marlowe, someday in the oncoming future.

if you are someone who is accustomed to drop in and read them, and would like to keep on, just friend me. Then you can read at will. The other things, Hornblower stuff and the rest of it will stay the same.

I hope this causes you guys no inconvenience. I hope it reminds me to keep writing as a serious as well as fun thing.

Good for you! I think you've got potential for a really great novel and you have a very individual 'voice' too. Best of luck with it!

Thank you. I will keep those words against the days when everything feels like broken glass and crap.

Your Marlowe is the fictional Marlowe that I love best of any I have read.

It is so hard to tell what works and what does not. I can feel my 'voice' (if that makes any sense,) it is a brisker voice than my speaking or regular thinking voice.

So--onward!

F-locking is a good idea, but as soon as you're half way serious, you'll need to take it all down. Publishers don't like a web footprint for work.

Good luck!

Oh dear. Well, you know that actually explains a lot. F-lock for now, anyway, one thing at a time.

I thought f-lock counted as "closed critique group" in terms of "prior publication"?

Not that more than a fragment or two of my stuff appeared even under lock - pretty much just the Petit Point Scene, since edited, and a DVD extra that's now up on my website as a freebie.

Best of luck! I think you are marvelous at setting a scene. I LOVED your vacation description and felt as if I'd been there!

It was a pretty great vacation. MIL's house has not changed in 15 years, but this time I had fun! My girl was a good hostess for her friend, made sure that friend felt comfortable, and had what she needed before she had to ask. It is always so hard, being a new houseguest. And I was so proud of Hazel!

That's great that your daughter was so thoughtful!! A great reward for you after all the years of training and reminding!! I've known grownups who are not so thoughtful!!

Oh that's great news! Your writing is so moving and original that it really does deserve to be read more widely. I really hope you can make this happen. Good luck!
