Sorting Marlowe

Yesterday i collected my Kyd and Marlowe stories, and put them in order. I am going to try to see if they need filling in, or (much more likely,) removal of parts, to make a better story. I think going back through at this point will help me with going ahead. I am still going ahead, the going back may be invisible to anyone outside my brain.

I still feel I am in the 'getting to know them' stage of things. The guys are revealing themselves slowly-- as are the other people in their lives. Writing them is fun. It is fun to allow myself to invent their world.

I added up my word counts, I have about 20,000 for Marlowe stuff. More than I thought.

That is actually a little scary, because it is so dwarfed by the Hornblower writings.

Thank you all for slogging through with me. I am so grateful for everyone who has taken the time to read, even if they never did comment. And, of course, the comments I have gotten have been so kind, so thoughtful,

Nobody has said  'Who are you, and what do you think you are doing, you imposter! Go away!'

Everybody has said 'Come over here, it is fun isn't it? We know what you mean.  Look over there-- isn't that cool?.'

How good you all are! I want to take you all home and feed you cheesecake! You all mean more to me than I can say.

So, onward. I am going to try and do some more of what I have been doing. And new things too. It is fun, isn't it?   Look over there!

It's a lot of fun! And it's amazing what you find when you look over there. Like friends, where you least expect them :) It was so lovely to skype with you on Sunday, that really was the icing on the cake. Definitely the next best thing to being in the same room together, though I hope we can do that sometime in the not too distant future too! Weasel snot permitting ;)

I hope you do carry on doing what you're doing, because what you do, the stories you write, brings a huge amount of pleasure to people here, me included. So, onward :)

I am in no danger of stopping-- on either front. I thought for the longest time that the words were like water in a pan--but I realize now they are more like the water in the bottom of a hole in the sand that you dig at the beach.

They will keep oozing in as long as I keep digging. (See RLS, on the subject!)

I will be happy to organize. But I don't know how to make a master post. Can you tell me how to do it? It would be a great idea. Once I know how I can clean a lot of things up by putting like with like.

I would like it put on record that I would prefer cornbread to cheesecake. That is all.

Cornbread for you then. I love cornbread too.

Even if it never gets published, it's still fun exploring a bit of history and the people who live in it. Do carry on writing Kyd and Marlowe - I very much enjoy reading your interpretation of them!

I am so pleased that you like the way i see them. I like the way you see Marlowe too. I believe he was a good man in a very ugly position.

Kyd is more of a mystery. But I do not blame him for collapsing under torture. Pretty much anyone would. And Marlowe was dead by then-- so he did not need to struggle to protect a living man.

I wish we could meet them, just for an hour!

Keep pressing onward! Remember that in this day and age, there are many alternative ways to publish.

You are a real inspiration to me. I know that when and if the time comes, I will be seeking your advice!

I really need to sit down and read your Marlow and Kyd series, hopefully when the work/relocation stuff settles down I'll get the time!

Maybe by that time I will have a master-post to make things less untidy.

Haha - still waiting for a master-post for each fandom! Sorry I can give absolutely no help on the technical side of it, though. Perhaps anteros can help now that the book is done? *Looks guilty for volunteering people*
