I suppose a milestone

Today I made a cheesecake. It has bananas in it because I had some bananas that needed to go somewhere. But I made it all myself, with things I had. And it is as good as many I have bought. (Still not as good as Juniors, but that is a high bar.)

And the best part is, I did not need to look anything up. I just eyeballed and went. I had the ricotta, and egg yolks, and sugar and bananas, and I made a crust of matzoh meal and butter. And that was it.

It set up nice, and turned gold on top. It did not crack, but it holds its shape when you cut it. No oozing.

So-- I am happy.

No writing today, but hey, cheesecake!
