All settled in

We are all settled in at the hospital. C has her electrodes all set and is generating squiggles appropriately. I am in the recliner, i will be here until Wednesday. Claire is having a friend visit her--he brought pizza!

I am worried about this Boston thing. Very unlikely that any family is near the race-- the city is a zoo on Patriots Day. Still I worry.

Hope all is well with you all.

We're fine, watching it all on TV. So scary. My oldest son works in Boston, we checked and he's okay.

Hope things go smoothly for you. God bless.

Glad you are safe. I lived in Boston and Allston for 5 years. It is a city that I love. It hurts to see it hurt.

I immediately thought of your family when I heard the news. I hope they are all safe. Worrying times.

Glad you and C are all settled in, hope everything goes well. I'll post a fic tomorrow to help pass the time.

I managed to reach my brother. He and his are ok. They live in Somerville, on the Cambridge side of the river.

One good thing is that Boston is very well set with hospitals. Also lots of police and responders. The medical care given on scene and later will be very good.

Oh, I am online for real now-- got my laptop wifi up. It is 4 am here, which is a time when i often wake up, and this recliner chair is not conducive to sleep.

I am watching daugher's brainwaves scoot across a monitor screen. Now that she is asleep and motionless, they are very regular, kind of like some sort of dull modern art.

Her young friend seemed to find them interesting. She showed him how they change when she laughed or ate something.

Good luck at the hospital! It sounds like everything's going smoothly so far, so I hope that keeps up.

I hope so too. We see the neurologist today.

Good luck!
Try not to worry? I know that's the most useless thing anyone can say, but the probability of someone you know being hurt is tiny. Which didn't stop me from worrying today... At least phone service appears to be back up from whatever was happening to it earlier.

I came to it late-- did not know the phones had even been down. (Although it makes sense.)

natural to worry - even though you know it is very unlikely and especially as you are a bit cut off for days at the moment
I hope all the tests go well and you both survive patience and waiting and testing - hugs

I had two very good friends up in London on 7/7

and heard nothing all day for about 10 hours and by that time I and nearly chewed my phone up - they were both ok in the end but you alwaus know for some people it doesn't end like that.

and there was at least one spin off - one of them was phoned by a brother he had had a row with and they spoke to one another for first time in months.A real sense of lifes too short for that kind of quarrel

I hope people in Boston find some of the good that these atrocities bring in their wake.

I did reach my brother. They are ok. I love Boston. It was my first city, the first place I lived on my own. I have been downtown on Patriots Day. (Commemoration of Paul Reveres ride.) The city is packed, dense. There would have been little kids, runners families, dogs....

I lived in London during the worst of the IRA bombings in the 1970s and 1980s - it's never less scary! I came close to at least one bombing in a station; there is nothing new under the sun!

Hugs all round. Thoughts and prayers going out to you.

What a madness. Glad no one of your relatives had been hurt. I wish you and your daughter that everything goes well. The 'dull modern art' made me smile though :)
Wasn't it Oscar Wilde who said, that you can find beauty everywhere, in everything? *sends good vibrations*
