The cats in new digs

Both cats seem to prefer the new place. They were scared at first but the same furniture and familiar smells soon settled them. There are lots of bids here, and wide windowsills to sit on, for threatening them.

There is a robust wildlife thing here. Last night I saw a raccoon, leaving the neighboring building's garbage zone. I was a small one, not much bigger than a big cat, but you cannot mistake that funny humpy walk for anything else.

Here is another photo of cats, Lyra is annexing Hazel's bed, Yodel is by the door. He is quite stout now, and minds the heat.

Looks like one of the critters has no problem with diving in and scattering chow all over the place. Glad to see a pic like this, it looks real and not staged! Neighbor's cat, Angel, is suffering from arthritis... pain gets bad and she hides. They've had her to the vet and she has a bunch of kitty narcotics. When they realize she isn't there, they find and medicate her. Life is tolerable for her for a bit longer. Angel was sort of the neighborhood cat for a long time, always out and coming by to visit. She actually adopted them and just moved in.

That is the thing about cats-- when something hurts them they just hide out.

The bottom of the cat display area is Hazel's eating station. The food on the floor is hers. The cats eat on top. You might think that this is to stop her taking their food. In fact it is to stop them taking hers!

All are obviously well fed, or else the spilled bits of food would not be there. The bird is notoriously messy, drops half of everything while eating and sometimes loses it all. In the wild, quaker parrots are known to fly down to the ground to harvest/eat what they've dropped. He-Lo is to lazy, and with his wings clipped doesn't fly unless startled. He just squawks for more.

I like it. There is more sky here than at our old place. The streets are wider. And there is the beach. The beach makes up for the pokey kitchen, and the climb to the fourth floor. The beach makes up for everything.

They totally adored you. They will be all in your lap again whenever you come to visit.

Oh happy cats! It's good to see them so relaxing.
And I was attracted to the furniture with many drawers on the right. Is it old furniture? Looks very chic.

It is a strange item. The front is metal, and the top is wood. We use it for tools, and for things like maps which don't seem to want to stay in a bookcase. And the top is perfect for the cats to eat on.

It's interesting how much the same furniture seems to settle them. My cat was very unhappy in my new place, but once the furniture was moved in, she was all "Well, okay then" and settled right in.

You have some cute kitties!

Glad the kitties have settled in. Love the way Lyra has commandeered Hazel's bed. That's such a typically cat thing to do isn't it?!
