This is the part where Tybalt asks if he 'consorts' with Romeo, and Mercutio goes in a single moment from cool to incandescent rage. He objects to the word 'consort' it is some sleight to his honor.

Kit at his worst was given to such rage.</p>

As far as this actor, yes, those eyes. Also he is knee weakeningly handsome.

He's not bad, is he? I wouldn't put it past old Will to have based Mercutio on Marlowe. Great reckoning in a small room and all that.

My beloved Michael Kitchen played Mercutio at the RSC. Hugh Quarshie as Tybalt and Sean Bean as Romeo!

Probably the best Mercutio I've ever seen. His Queen Mab speech is stunning. And yes, so, so Kit.

R and J was probably finished in 1595-- two years after Kit's death. And Mercutio was pretty much an OC. Certainly WS had a lot of freedom in writing a personality there.
