One of Cheeses Many Uses

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/12/24/us/wisconsin-finds-another-role-for-cheese-de-icing-roads.html

The headline makes it sound as if they use actual cheese-- really it is just the leftover brine.  Still a good idea. There is a certain elegant economy to the idea.

As far as road traction, Wisconsin needs to do all it can.

Sounds practical to me. Only thing about the article that bothered me was near the bottom... "Chehalis, in Washington state." Why couldn't they have simply said, "Chehalis, Washington." I get tired of everybody adding "state" after Washington. Especially when they are not even close to talking about the Cougars. We don't say "Fernwood in Idaho state, or Topeka in Kansas State, so why to so many have to tag "State" on to Washington.
There, final rant of 2013 completed.

Practical, and yet endearingly silly :-)
