Complaining

Someone across the airshaft is playing marichi hits of the 80's really loud! I mean shaking the windows, dog can't sleep either,  loud. This is a straw too much! I might complain, if I could figure out who it was, but that is not easy around here. There was a church that played the snare drum as part of late night, (possibly all night,) services. Took ages to find them, they were down the block. Sound distorts around here.

I have been having nightmares all week. (I do that, I am used to it, but it means I have to sleep in the day too sometimes,) Also sleep has something to do with writing. Bits of things coalesce for me in sleep, if I can do it right. Sounds dumb, but it seems to work.   But my plans for lovely sleep were already scuttled today. Husband had put his chem homework on the wrong hard drive, the one he cannot export from, because it works funny because he found it in the street... But he needed everything on it desperatly. So he had to come home. And he was already in a bad mood too because he had cut his hand at work. He was taking samples from a drop ceiling. (They are full of asbestos, you guys.) Some idiot had shoved a bunch of sheet metal up there where it could not be seen.

So he came cursing home on the subway. And he met me, cursing here. This is why I buy the BIG band-aids. You can always cut them down, but you never know when you will want a huge one. Also, they live in the kitchen. Because that is where the knives are. I mean when was the last time anyone got cut in the bathroom?

So I guess, not going to sleep. I can put on ;my headphones and do something useful. At least I will be hearing music that I picked out.

Sorry you are having these problems!! I hate having my sleep disturbed! Luckily it doesn't happen often here. I hope you can get in a nap and "catch up!"

I am now wearing earplugs and mickyhouse ears. Music is louder than before. Miserable.

Ugh, sounds very unpleasant! I hope you manage to find some peace, and an afternoon nap.

(I left you an LJ message, not sure if you got it.)

I did get the message. I sent you an email. Maybe that went astray. The basic message is 'oh yes please. I will be at your disposal, and hopping with excitement.'

Stupid music is still going on. It occurs to me that it is midday, midweek. They have no reason to think they are disturbing anyone. But I am probably not the only one.

That's rubbish! There's nothing worse than being tired and everyone being annoyed and grumpy :( I hope you get some peace and quiet soon. In the meantime I'll post something silly to distract you....

that is just how I feel. Tired and cranky, and unable to settle. I can see that you and Archie understand. His face is how I feel.

I always use ear plugs. They are really great :) Neighbours. That's a worldwide phenomenon, I think. We all tend to ourselves not minding what loud music is doing to our neighbours...

Getting cut in the bathroom? Shaving your legs with a razor blade maybe? No. Hm. Shards of glass from a broken perfume bottle. Never happened to me either :)

i have cut my ankles shaving. But I am much more likely to cut myself cooking.

Also you are smart. I found some of son's earplugs that he wears to concerts. Put them in. Yay. for about 30 seconds. Then, as if by magic, I heard the music get LOUDER. Almost as if they could see me. Argh!

I am sorry to hear of the various woes.

See above. I am now wearing double hearing protection. Internal and external blockage of ears. Still, the tune and the words come through. Sounds that reach you through double hearing protection are considered damaging by the USN. Like being in the engine room or running a lathe. (I would like to run them through a lathe...)

Gosh, that sounds frustrating! I hope the people being loud tone it down, and I hope your husband heals nicely without any reactions or effect from the asbestos.. shit that stuff is deadly! Anyway, my sleep is messed up too mostly because I am used to working late and all that. Speaking of.. I really should go take a nap! Bye~
